To celebrate the opening of its 150th store in Australia, Specsavers rolled out the company’s green carpet for guests to enter their newest store, located in Hunter Street, in the centre of Sydney’s CBD.
According to Specsavers, the company’s successful overseas price philosophy – two pairs of glasses for the price of one on all frames priced AUD$199 and above – has been met with a resounding response from customers across the country.
“People in this country have been used to paying AUD$600, AUD$700, and even more, for a single pair of glasses – no wonder most specs wearers don’t own more than one pair,” says Peter Larsen, Specsavers Australia Managing Director.
At the launch of their new store, Specsavers profiled some of their designer brands which include labels Missoni, Jasper Conran, Ben Sherman, fcuk, Roxy, Quicksilver and Osiris.
“We want to give Australians the chance to own numerous pairs of highly fashionable, best quality glasses, to have a pair to suit a mood, an outfit or a time of day, just as they do in Europe,” says Larsen. “People should be ale to own as many pairs of glasses as they do shoes or handbags, but cost has been a real barrier in Australia.”
Guests at the launch were also provided with two free pairs of frames to fit their prescription.
