Vision Group, Australia’s largest provider of private ophthalmic care, is set to expand its ophthalmology business and expand into other surgical specialties.
These were the sentiments of Vision Group Chairman, Mr. Shane Tanner following the recent appointment of new Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Craig Stamp, who had previously been running the Asia-Pacific (excluding India, China and Japan) commercial operations of global eye care giant Bausch & Lomb.
“It is enormously satisfying that one of Australia’s most respected ophthalmic business executives recognises the potential of Vision Group and wants to be part of its growth,” said Mr. Tanner.
Mr. Stamp said he was delighted to have the opportunity to realise the expansion and business development plans already in train at Vision Group.
“The fundamentals of the business are strong and the potential for growth is considerable,” Mr Stamp said.
“The business is ideally positioned to grow revenues across the existing network and expand its ophthalmic business footprint through acquisition. I’m excited by the opportunities that have already been identified to expand into other surgical specialities,” he said.
Mr. Stamp hinted at future plans by saying: “One of my first priorities will be to work with all stakeholders, including Doctor Partners, to allow us to organically grow our company, firm in the knowledge that the best practitioners of ophthalmology remain at the heart of our business.”
