Since entering the NZ market in November Specsavers has gained a market share of 12.5 per cent (Specsavers sales against total NZ industry sales of NZD$280million).
Meanwhile, the Independent reports Hans Anders, The Netherlands largest optical retail chain, sued Specsavers for using misleading adverts which imply Hans Anders staff aren’t educated to do dispensing. As dispensing is not regulated in The Netherlands Hans Anders said employees receive complete internal training.
