Meanwhile, from Tokyo, organisers say the 22nd International Optical Fair Tokyo (IOFT 2009) in late October has attracted “the most excited response ever from the industry” with 550 exhibitors expecting onsite sales of 7.5 billion JPYEN (approx. AUD$92 million) from visitors around the world, during the three day show period.
Because IOFT will be held straight after Silmo this year, exhibitors will showcase the latest products at IOFT.
Organisers say overseas exhibitor numbers have already increased by 30 per cent compared to last year.
