CCLSA Fellowship Program

The Cornea and Contact Lens Society of Australia (CCLSA) is offering its members an opportunity to apply for a more prestigious level of membership.

It is a level which the Society says recognises outstanding optometric scholarship. The award of Fellowship of the Society is the highest level of membership and acknowledges the person as a specialist in the field of contact lenses.

Fellowship status is an earned distinction that requires demonstration of professional competence. Candidates must have had at least three years postgraduate clinical and/ or academic experience and a full spectrum of knowledge over the whole of contact lens practice is expected. Achievement of a Fellowship will also entitle Australian candidates to sixty four (64) CPD points.

A Fellow of the Society may add the letters FCCLSA after his or her name and use the Fellowship as an indicator of esteem, as follows. Clinical Candidates are registered optometrists or ophthalmologists engaged in clinical practice who are current members of the CCLSA. Scientific Candidates are primarily involved in research relating to the vision sciences who are current members of the CCLSA. They have published articles in peer-reviewed journals, and generally have an advanced degree in a vision-science area of discipline.
