Glaucoma Adherence A study has found that openly discussing adherence by asking glaucoma patients open-ended questions, educating them about drop instillation and using nonjudgmental ways to approach non-adherence could assist in improving patient compliance with medication.
“The physicians in our practice changed the way they discuss adherence with patients, using the concept of ask-tell-ask,” said Dr. Michael Boland at the recent American Glaucoma Society meeting. By adopting the ask-tellask concept, a high proportion of patients in the Automated Dosing Reminder Study correctly took at least 75 per cent of their oncedaily eye drops.
