The OAA Victoria’s annual golf day at the Yarra Yarra Gold Club in March raised almost AUD$11,000 for Optometry Giving Sight. The 101 golfers and 13 sponsors raised nearly double the total from last year’s event and the most ever raised by a golf day benefiting Optometry Giving Sight!
The charity has praised all the players, the OAA Victorian division and the sponsors, including Gold Sponsor: Hoya; Silver Sponsors: Mimo, Investec Experien, Servicing Optics, BOC Instruments, ProVision, Optiqueline, Maui Jim, Mod- Style, Designs for Vision, Rimoptics and Rodenstock.
Peter Stewart from High on Vision, in Kew, won the Perpetual Trophy and Anne Lewis from Lewis and McConnell Optometrists in Mount Waverley, secured her spot as the best ladies representative. OAA President, Andrew Harris, got a magical hole-in-one, winning the nearest-the-pin on the 1st.
The money raised will help to provide eye exams and glasses through sustainable programs in developing communities.
