A project that dedicates eyeglasses to the most significant vacation destinations for city dwellers, Postcard Sunglasses, is a spring/summer 2010 capsule collection.
Presented on the catwalk and strongly linked to the collection concepts, the eyewear is representative of a genuine project. Prada has dedicated Postcard Sunglasses to some of the vacation destinations that have always been a reference point for city dwellers.
The six colours of these sunglasses are associations of ideas linking a city to its twin:
- Milan: green eyewear dedicated to Forte dei Marmi.
- Los Angeles: light pink eyewear dedicated to Santa Monica.
- Manhattan: transparent eyewear with pink lenses dedicated to Montauk.
- Paris: transparent eyewear with light gray lenses dedicated to Biarritz.
- London: transparent gray eyewear with orange lenses dedicated to Cornwall.
- Lisbon: matte black eyewear with black lenses dedicated to Setúbal.
Lastly, to continue along memory lane and the value it represents, Prada is creating ‘multimedia postcards’ that will be revealed soon.
Made in transparent injected plastic, the eyewear is already available at Prada stores and in the optics channel.
