Versace has sought inspiration from Tim Burton’s revival of the classic fairytale Alice in Wonderland for its new sunglass collection which reinterpret Versace’s baroque style.
According to the company this was a natural design choice as the fairytale world of Alice expresses the freedom to mix colours and materials and discover a situation where the imagination explodes in an alternating and overlapping blend of optical effects and lively micro-patterns.
The fashion house’s unmistakable Medusa symbol is an elegant bass-relief applied to the temples.
The designs on the acetate frames are bold and flamboyant including colours such as fluoro tangerine, yellow and lilac and combined with more classic hues like black and tortoiseshell. The designs on the front piece and temples are very Alice with strong contrasts of black on a tangerine or fluoro yellow background and vice-versa.
The new models are designed to inspire the imagination and to penetrate the DNA of today’s fashions.
