It was with great sadness that we heard about the tragic death of Sue Larter. Sue was holidaying with her husband John in the Kermadec Islands, 1,000km NE of New Zealand at the time of her death. In an announcement this morning, the Australasian College of Behavioural Optometrists (ACBO) Board said “ACBO and the optometry community mourn Sue as a passionate practitioner, a wonderful friend and a person who was driven to help everyone she came in contact with. She was an enthusiastic and tireless driving force for ACBO over many years and had served on the ACBO Board as Secretary and most recently Interim President.” We at mivision are so deeply upset and sorry to hear of this news. Sue was a featured contributor in our March 2011 issue and wrote a brilliant piece on Brain Games: Embracing Neurodevelopmental Treatment, a subject that she was very passionate about. Sue will be deeply missed by her family, friends, colleagues, patients and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
