Toms, the footwear company renowned for its One for One program, which donates shoes to disadvantaged kids every time it sells a pair to the public, has expanded into eyewear.
Toms Eyewear features a range of sunglasses in three classic styles. With every pair purchased, the company will help give sight to a person in need.
“Ever since 2007, I’ve realised the Toms One for One model could do more than give shoes – it could and should address other needs around the world,” said the company’s Founder and Chief Shoe Giver, Blake Mycoskie, at a public event in Santa Monica. The company has partnered with Seva Foundation, an international health organisation working to build sustainable programs in underserved communities around the globe.
Each of the sunglasses will be made in Italy and features an iconic hand-painted striping detail, symbolising the three elements of One for One; the purchaser, the person to whom the customer is helping give sight, and Toms which brings the two together.
