Luxottica’s First Franchise Conference

Global eye care and eyewear company Luxottica chose Sydney for its inaugural franchising conference, adopting the theme “The Way Forward…”.

More than 90 delegates attended the conference, held at Sydney’s Olympic Park, to hear presentations on the principles and franchising, business partnerships and how to make the most of the franchising system.

In Australia, Luxottica’s retail brands include OPSM, Laubman & Pank, Budget Eyewear, Sunglass Hut and Bright Eyes. With more than 830 stores across Australia, it employs close to 4,500 people.

Luxottica’s Director of Franchising, Peter Baily, said the August conference was designed to provide franchise partners with “new skills to help them increase their sales and profitability”.

In Australia, Luxottica’s retail brands include OPSM, Laubman & Pank, Budget Eyewear, Sunglass Hut and Bright Eyes.

Speakers including Mr. Baily; founder and Chairman of The Franchise Relationships Institute, Greg Nathan; Executive Director of DC Strategy, Rod Young; Luxottica Australia’s CEO, Chris Beer; and Luxottica’s Director of Eyecare, Grant Fisher.

Luxottica excellence awards winners were:

  • Andrew O’Neill, OPSM Colonnades – Excellence in Customer Experience Award
  • James Abson and Deanna Reeves, OPSM Croydon – Excellence in Local Store Marketing; and Full Franchise Partner of the Year
  • Glenn Barltrop, Laubman & Pank Brookside – Excellence in Business Performance and Optometry Franchise Partner of the Year
