Speaking of new faces… Specsavers has announced its new face for its frames. Australian model Matt Ducey was named 2011 Specsavers Face of the Year in late August and flown to New York to be photographed by international supermodel turned photographer, Helena Christensen.
A cast of elite judges from Australia’s fashion and modelling industry handpicked Matt for his infectious spirit, natural charm and piercing eyes. The six foot three, blue eyed brunette, beat seven other finalists, selected from a pool of hundreds of entrants from across Australia. He also picked up a 12 month modelling contract with Australia’s top commercial modelling agency, Scoop.
Alex Perry, Australian designer and judge panellist said, “It was a really tough decision, the calibre of finalists was incredibly high but Matt was definitely the stand out for me. He really shone in front of the camera and when it comes to spec style, he knows what works, there isn’t a frame that doesn’t work on that face!”
