Global pharmaceutical and health care company Abbott has been recognised as one of the highest-ranking health care companies in Australia by the Great Place to Work Institute.
An independent survey of nearly 500 of Abbott’s Australian employees, conducted by the Great Place to Work Institute showed high marks across all five areas of focus – management credibility, trust in its leaders, pride in the workplace, respect, fairness and camaraderie among employees.
Speaking of the survey results, Toby Bicknell, Human Resources Director, Abbott Australasia, said the award recognises the company’s commitment to the growth, development and success of its employees.
“Scores were particularly high in pride and camaraderie.

“Building a performance culture and developing the next generation of leaders are central to Abbott’s success,” said Mr. Bicknell. “Learning and development and continuing employee education are priorities because we believe that it is only though our people that we can achieve our business goals.”
“While the Australian pharmaceutical industry can be prone to a ‘brain drain’, here at Abbott, we have created a ‘brain boomerang’, where we give our team international opportunities to work within the global Abbott network, and they return to Australia with even greater experience, networks and new ideas,” he said.
