L’Amy launched new optical and sun collections for Lanvin, Chopard, Givenchy, Ermenegildo Zegna and Furla at an exclusive event hosted at Sydney’s Simmer on the Bay.
Australian celebrities attended the event, including Reuben Mourad, Natarsha Belling and Matt Doran from Channel 10. Journalists from magazines including Grazia, Madison and mivision were also on hand to review the new collections.
Many of L’Amy’s clients attended the launch including Tony and Vicki Hanks from Eyecare Plus, Tony Jones for ProVision and ProVision Board member Christine Craigie. Additionally, Lily Wegrzynowski and Amanda McKnight from EyeQ and Colin Kangissar from Prevue attended as well as Helen Summers from Eyecare Plus who had traveled to the event from Darwin.
Guests enjoyed fabulous food amid superb surrounds that had been specially created for the evening to showcase the eyewear by the Sydney interiors consultancy Shades of Pale.
Large rounded lenses, and dark frames with flashes of colour dominated the collections although there were also brightly coloured frames and a hint of bling.
L’Amy’s Marketing Manager, Angelina Chee said all five brands will “fit nicely” into L’Amy’s brand portfolio.
“Being French, L’Amy brings a unique flair to its product, but the Italians have an uncanny knack for style and colour not to mention fantastic acetate,” she said.
“My personal favourite was the amazing first collection of Lanvin that DeRigo has produced. Their use of different materials like python and leathers combined with beautiful Italian acetate are a stand out.”
De Rigo South East Asia’s Managing Director Vittorio Trusso spoke to guests about the new distribution alliance between L’Amy and DeRigo in Australia, which he said, will ensure the company has a wider and more diverse range of products and international brand names to offer optical retailers in the future.
Ms. Chee said the event was a huge success. “We had an extremely positive response from our guests both from the industry and press. The fashion editors of leading magazines like Grazia and Madison said they were “obsessed” with the Lanvin collection. To hear this from these women is very reassuring!
“I’ve had numerous call outs to the magazines already across all the brands so there is a lot of hype,” she added.
