The elite of Sydney’s fashion media, along with key accounts, frocked up and flocked to the National Trust’s Lindsay House in Sydney’s exclusive suburb of Darling Point on Tuesday (11 September) to witness the unveiling of Luxottica’s summer sunglass collection.
On a gorgeous spring day, mocktails flowed and guests mingled on the lawn overlooking Sydney’s harbour before being seated for high tea and a brief presentation from the host company, Luxottica.
Speaking at the launch, Anthea Muir, Vice President of Product and Manufacturing at OPSM, said the brand’s summer collection includes product from the major fashion houses including Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Burberry and Ray Ban. Also as an optometrist, she reminded her audience, which included Australia’s leading fashion editors; of the importance of ensuring children as well as adults wear sunglasses to reduce the risk of UV damage. She said 90 per cent of skin cancers occur from the neck up and 10 per cent occur on the eyelids.
The new collections comprise of 1,100 styles across 34 brands with 85 per cent of the collection being scriptable.
