Bollé has returned to its roots, signing a two-year deal to become the official supplier for Australia’s professional road race cycling team, Orica-GreenEDGE.
The cycling team, launched in 2011, made a highly successful debut on the UCI World Tour last year reaching sixth in the Tour rankings.
Announcing the agreement, Olivier Ciaravino, President of Bushnell Eyewear Division – Bollé’s parent company – said road cycling was “part of Bollé’s DNA”.
“We are very proud and enthusiastic to be returning to this sport as a partner to the most appealing of the professional racing teams. Our ambitions with Orica-GreenEDGE are unlimited, and we intend to deliver the best glasses available to our riders.”
Bollé was strongly associated with professional road cycling in the 80s and 90s.
The brand has developed a “Cycling Ultimate” range, offering cutting-edge technology that combines high-tech lenses and optimal frame design. With maximum resistance to impact, Bollé’s B-Clear lenses are photochromic, have hydrophobic and oleophobic qualities (meaning they resist water and dirt)… and they’re feather light.
To celebrate the deal with Orica-GreenEDGE, Bolle has released two exclusive models, bearing the colours of the Australian road racing team. The Vortex model is available in white or green.
