Better Vision App Launched

A new ‘Better Vision’ app, developed to support visually impaired and dyslectic people in their efforts to read magnifies text by two to 10 times, and reads English, German, Spanish or Dutch text out loud on iPhones, iPads (mini) and Android devices.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column]

The app can also light up text and, with a choice of six different enhancing colour filters, will enhance contrast, making it useful for reading the paper, a menu, street names, and bus numbers or for recognising items in the supermarket. The ‘Better Vision’ app can be used to help people who need reading glasses.

According to the developer, The Vision Force Group, functions such as magnifying, reading out loud, lighting up and enhancing contrast, will obviate the need for electronic or optically magnifying aids such as screen, telescopes or handheld magnifiers and magnifying glasses.

The app, which can be purchased for less than AUD$10 is suitable for iOS 5+ (specifically for iPad 3, iPhone 4 and newer models) and for Android 2.2 (phones and tablets) and newer versions. It will only work if the device has a camera function.

The Vision Force Group, works to develop solutions to simplify the of lives of dyslectic and poor sighted people and to improve the quality of sight in everyday life.
