CAPTIV8 Software
CAPTIV8, a new 3D animation patient communication software product aims to revolutionise the way practitioners communicate with their patients.
CAPTIV8 delivers truly amazing 3D animations in an innovative software platform for PC and iPad on a whole host of ophthalmic subjects, such as medical eye conditions, contact lenses, spectacle lenses as well as clinical and surgical procedures.
The technology has been developed in the UK in conjunction with optometrists and ophthalmologists and is now available exclusively from Device Technologies.
The Maestro is built on Topcon’s unique platform that allows the operator console to be positioned in any direction
CAPTIV8 offers practitioners an all-in-one platform for patient communication, this may be in the consult room with the chair-side module, in the waiting area with your own customised playlist and in the patient’s home by sharing animations via email to a fully branded online animation resource. Not only does CAPTIV8 provide an effective solution in educating patients, it provides a unique way to promote your practice through patient recommendation and sharing via email, Facebook and Twitter. Shared animations can be viewed online within your own uniquely branded online resource or education centre and recommended patients can even request an appointment with your practice.
The CAPTIV8 software platform offers practices the opportunity to increase revenue by upgrading patients to higher quality spectacle lenses; promote products and services in the waiting area (by looping playlists of animations such OCT); improve compliance (by emailing animations on subjects such as application and removal of contact lenses), and market a practice in a digital era of social media and email using beautiful
3D animations.
TOPCON 3D-OCT-1 Maestro
Topcon has recently released the latest in innovative OCT technology with the all new OCT-1 Maestro.
The Maestro is built on Topcon’s unique platform that allows the operator console to be positioned in any direction, thus allowing for complete flexibility in relation to the operator and patient positioning.
One of the largest hurdles of introducing an OCT into an optometric practice is the physical logistics. With the increasing demand on consulting room space, the Maestro’s small footprint and versatile design allows it to be easily incorporated, including the ability for it to be mounted on a chair and stand unit.
The Topcon OCT-1 Maestro has an added advantage with its inbuilt non mydriatic colour camera. This eliminates the need for a separate fundus camera, which not only saves space and makes the patient workflow more efficient, but also provides direct correlation between the OCT B Scan and a true colour image of the fundus – an invaluable tool for any clinician. Finally, it also allows the clinician to see pathology lying outside the OCT scan area.
Other unique features of Topcon OCTs include the widest scan available at 12mm x 9mm, This is ideal for screening new patients as it allows both the macula and optic disc to be captured in a single scan.
Combined with its automatic right/left eye alignment, auto focus-auto shoot and its intuitive large colour touch screen, the Maestro is so simple to use scans can be easily obtained by ancillary staff, making the Maestro an ideal OCT choice to integrate into any practice.
The 3D-OCT-1 Maestro and CAPTIV8 are available through Device Technologies.
