The group aims to raise AU$500,000 over the next 12 months to help restore sight through the work of The Fred Hollows Foundation along with each store’s elected community organisation.
Speaking of the initiative, Specsavers Director of Professional Services, Peter Larsen said Specsavers stores and their customers will be able to get involved.
“For each frame purchased, customers will receive a donation token which they can then drop into either The Fred Hollows Foundation donation box or a donation box for the store’s chosen charity. Specsavers will then make a subsequent donation on the customer’s behalf to these organisations.
Penny Tribe, Senior Executive – Partnerships at The Fred Hollows Foundation, says the Specsavers Community Program will be a valuable campaign for the Foundation.
“This initiative is an excellent way for Specsavers customers to be part of a national partnership that is restoring sight and improving Indigenous health. Together, Specsavers and The Fred Hollows Foundation are changing lives by giving the gift of sight.”
Specsavers Australia has supported The Fred Hollows Foundation for over two years.
