The program, set up and run by Professor Gerard Sutton, is offered at graduate certificate, graduate diploma and master’s degree level.
Students will gain experience in corneal and intraocular techniques with clinical and workshop components, including hands-on femtosecond lens surgery experience.
The University says students with recognised prior learning in Ophthalmic Anatomy and Ophthalmic Optics can apply for credit for these two subjects thereby reducing the cost of the program by up to 50 per cent.
Students living outside Sydney have more options to complete their entire degree remotely, with the option of obtaining their clinical experience locally through auditing and mentoring, or by coming to Sydney for an intensive one-week program at the end of the year.
Applications close on 31 January 2014. For further information, see the Faculty website: http://sydney.edu.au/courses/programs/ophthalmology-ophthalmic-science-and-refractive-surgery or contact Rebecca Stoop at Sydney University on (AUS) 02 9382 7284 or via email: firstname.lastname@example.org
