Australian brand Niloca eyewear is quite simply, out there… no, really… right out there. Based on the strong industrial design expertise of the company’s founder, Colin Redmond, fused with an optical dispenser’s talent for frame fitting and colour, these frames take retro to the extreme.
Everything about Niloca eyewear is infatuating– from striking shapes (squared off, solid rounds, and geometric), to the vibrant, contrasting translucent and solid colours… even the manufacturing arrangements are unusual.
Designed in Melbourne’s inner city these frames are manufactured in Australia, France and Japan.
The Australian Niloca Eyewear workshop is one of the oldest continuously owned and operated workshops in the world, founded in 1963 and still run by the original owner. Niloca’s French workshop is in the Rhone foothills and the company’s titanium frames are crafted in Japan, in the factory run by the great-great-great-great grandson of the original founder!
