Eye care professionals who head to Asia for the 2014 Hong Kong Optical Fair in November, “will see the very latest fashion releases as well as the ‘nuts and bolts’ of the optical industry, all clearly and carefully categorised for efficient sourcing,” according to the organisers of this annual event.
Last year saw a record-breaking 700 exhibitors from 26 countries and regions and nearly 14,000 buyers visit the Fair from around 100 countries and regions.
Over 180 well known designer labels and brand names will be on show, including ic! berlin, Guy Laroche, Cervo Italy, Muzik, Matsuda, Paul Frank, Markus T, Converse, Tumi, ByWP, David Yurman, Fysh UK,
Big Horn and Emozione. Additionally, the future talents of Hong Kong’s eyewear industry will be revealed in a display of winning entries of the 16th Hong Kong Eyewear Design Competition.
Other exhibits include contact lenses and accessories, diagnostic instruments, eyewear, frames and lens, eyewear accessories, optometric instruments, equipment and machinery, and sporting and professional eyewear as well as trade services.
A series of seminars will cover off significant industry issues, product trends and market developments with international speakers and experts focusing their presentations on the theme, ‘Development of Optometry for the Future’.
Hong Kong is the third largest exporter of spectacles and frames in the world, with a vibrant, active design community supported by expertise in finance and logistics.
Organisers of the Hong Kong Optical Fair expect to welcome buyers from established global markets as well as from emerging markets that include Egypt, South Africa, Indonesia, Vietnam, Czech Republic
and Mexico.
