Several new modules for the Spectralis diagnostic imaging platform have been presented at the recent American Academy of Ophthalmology Meeting in Chicago.
The OCT2 Module is the next generation OCT module for the Spectralis product line and according to Heidelberg, it provides a platform for OCT Angiography in the future. The OCT2 Module combines a 70kHz A-scan rate with Heidelberg’s proprietary TruTrack high speed active tracking, which, according to the company, provides unmatched image quality and significantly improved acquisition speed.
Another innovation is the Widefield OCT Module which extends the field of view of OCT cross sectional imaging to 55’(approx.16.5mm) bringing OCT imaging to the periphery of the eye. It enables simultaneous cSLO+OCT imaging. Additionally, Heidelberg announced the new Heyex Pacs software platform, an image management and device integration platform, which makes advanced Pacs technology the standard for all Heidelberg Engineering devices and brings together images from all diagnostic imaging devices within a practice or hospital.
