Ms. Nichols told mivision she is excited to be back working with the eyecare team “having learned of its new bold ambitions and initiative programs for 2015–2017, which will allow OPSM to further expand their service and eyecare capabilities”.
In her role, Ms. Nichols will oversee Luxottica’s University partnerships across Australia and New Zealand and will focus on recruitment, supporting rural and regional placements for optometrists, an aspect of optometry she is very passionate about. Additionally, she will develop new business opportunities.
In late October OPSM was recognised at the annual FCA Excellence in Franchising Awards, with top honours in the categories; Excellence in Marketing and Franchisee of the Year (less than two staff).
OPSM’s Waurn Ponds was awarded Winner of the Franchisee of the Year (less than two staff). The OPSM Eye Check App was awarded in the category of Excellence in Marketing. It’s a free app that
takes users through a series
of screenings for near distance, contrast sensitivity, distance vision, astigmatism and
colour vision in about two to three minutes.
Speaking of the awards, Peter Baily, Director – Franchising and Acquisitions at OPSM said franchising “is increasingly becoming a bigger and more important part of our business”.
