SRC 2015 21–23 February

SRC 2015 will take place in Melbourne this month, from 21–23 February. With a strong line up of international and national speakers, a two-day trade expo and up to 55.5 CPD points to earn, this event offers optometrists a new year’s opportunity to get ahead on their CPD requirements.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column]

Returning to SRC is Professor Blair Lonsberry, the Clinic Director for the Portland Vision Centre associated with Pacific University in Portland, Oregon. For the first time, Chris Lievens, an Associate Professor and Chief of Staff at The Eye Centre, Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, will speak. Associate Professor Lieven’s areas of expertise include eye disease, contact lens solutions and optometric management. He is the co-creator of the funduscopic grading card and was the Tennessee state consultant on the Healthy Eyes Healthy People program.

Another speaker who will be on stage at SRC 2015 is Dr. Diane Ashworth, who was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa in 1984 and in 2012 became Australia’s first research participant to have a prototype bionic eye device implanted in her left eye. Well known eye health experts Drs. Simon Chen, Laura Downie and Lauren Ayton will deliver presentations, as will Professor David Atchison, recipient of the 2014 H. Barry Collin Research Medal.

There are many, many more speakers on the packed dual stream program. To find out more about the education and social program as well as the trade expo, visit www.optometrists.asn.au/vic.
