ODMA 2015 in Brisbane will assemble the largest gathering of optical suppliers showing the latest products as well as a “Fabulous Friday” education program offering up to 30 CPD points.
“Eleven respected experts, including keynote speaker Professor Minas Coroneo, will deliver a wide ranging program, consisting of 13 sessions in a one-day program, designed to meet the professional development needs of optometrists,” Chief Executive Officer Finola Carey said. In addition, one hour long “master classes” for practice staff will include basic and advanced dispensing master classes with textbook author David Wilson and master classes on the damaging effects of UV, HEV, and glare with Dave Burch (fresh from his US speaking tour).
Ms. Carey said ODMA would also celebrate independent practice, with a 4th of July, “Independent’s Day” social function, designed for independent practitioners seeking a business or succession partner. The session is not open to corporate recruiters.
Another highlight, Ms. Carey said, is the gala dinner, which includes the Awards of Excellence.
Award categories include Optical Frames, Sunglasses, Children’s Frames, Sports Eyewear, Lens Design, Lens Treatment/Coating, Equipment, Product Environment (POS, Retail) and The Rep of the Year Award.
Voting on the awards can be lodged on the ODMA website before 21 June. ODMA 2015 runs from 3 to 5 July at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. Visit www.odma-2015.com.au.
