Following his recent business trip to Australia, UK eyewear identity Robert William Morris wrote to mivision, asking us to pass on his heartfelt thanks for the hospitality he received while here and the ongoing friendships he enjoys.
“Dear friends,
I wanted to write this personal message to express my heart felt gratitude to everyone I met during my recent tour of your wonderful and inspiring country!
Once again I was made to feel so welcome during my short stay, it was wonderful to meet new and old friends during ODMA and afterwards while visiting practices in and around Sydney.
On a slightly political note I would “encourage” both optometrists and suppliers to continue to support and attend future ODMA events…
It was interesting to see and hear how many challenges facing the optical industry in Australia are exactly the same as the ones we face here in the UK.
I was touched by the friendships in your market, many of which seemed to extend back many years and the support shown to fellow optometrists.
I could generally sense a huge optimism despite the challenges and an embracing of the retail / fashion side of “our” industry!
On a slightly political note I would “encourage” both optometrists and suppliers to continue to support and attend future ODMA events.
“We” need these events to keep in touch with our market (in every aspect) as well as networking with friends and colleagues. I really appreciate the costs and efforts involved, especially for suppliers, but I do honestly believe that without these events our industry and business would suffer in the long term.
For sure, as long as I’m welcome, I will continue to support our distributor (Frames Etcetera) and attend all future ODMA events.
Thank you again, I really wanted to take a few moments to express my gratitude, I will be traveling to over ten shows this year throughout the globe but your show and my time spent there and with you will remain “the” most special for me.
