Cameron Loveless, National OCT Product Manager, Designs for Vision said “it will also be available to existing RS-3000 Advance users as a PC and software upgrade. No hardware changes are required to the OCT unit itself.”
Nidek’s OCT AngioScan is regarded to be at the cutting edge of OCT technology, and early indications are that OCT Angiography will bring a revolution to retinal imaging in coming years. Nidek’s Panorama function also allows resolution to be maintained even when capturing large 9mm and 12mm AngioScans.
The AngioScan release follows the success of the Nidek RS-330 RetinaScan Duo combined OCT/fundus camera launched in late 2014. The 12 megapixel camera produces crystal clear colour fundus photos, and the wide 9mm x 9mm normative data for Ganglion Cell Complex analysis aids in early detection of glaucoma.
“The Duo is available with or without Fundus Auto Fluorescence (FAF) however this feature is proving extremely popular. With enhanced imaging of dry AMD, retinal dystrophies and optic nerve head drusen, more than 95 per cent of Australian Duo customers have chosen to purchase their Duo with the FAF
option,” says Mr. Loveless.
