According to the founders /creative talents behind Samal Design, this brand’s eyewear is inspired by “art deco, urban constructivism and 80s videogames with a modern twist”.
Dzmitry Samal comes from Belarus and studied in Italy before settling down in Paris. Having designed cars, his approach to design combines technology and pure design. His partner, Henri Courmant, has worked for Maisons de Couture including Celine and Yves Saint Laurent.
Speaking of their spectacles, Samal and Courmant write, “We aim at developing feel good spectacles. We want to put a big smile on the face of all our customers with no limitation of age, sex or origin. As a matter of fact, we launch frames we love and hope to share our passion with others”.
Dzmitry Samal glasses are 100 per cent handmade in France and can all be fitted with prescription lenses. Pictured here is O8, “an intersection of three geometrical shapes: a rectangle, triangle and oval” which has been nominated for best frame at Silmo 2016.
