CooperVision ANZ has added to its Biofinity range of monthly silicone hydrogel contact lenses with the Biofinity XR toric, for patients who have both high prescriptions and astigmatism.
These patients have typically had challenges with contact lenses in the past, or may have thought that contact lens wear was not an option.
According to CooperVision, this is the only silicone hydrogel contact lens range from a major manufacturer designed for patients with prescriptions beyond the traditional stock range.
Biofinity XR toric incorporates a uniform horizontal ISO thickness and optimised ballast band similar to the Biofinity toric, making it easy-to-fit and stable. Additionally it has an optimised, junctionless smooth front lens surface for patient comfort.
Aquaform Technology allows more oxygen to reach the eyes
Aquaform Technology allows more oxygen to reach the eyes, helping to maintain clear, white eyes and healthier corneal physiology.
According to CooperVision, the new lens material is naturally and uniformly wettable, providing a soft and flexible lens.
Biofinity XR toric lenses are available in sphere powers from -6.50 to -10.00DS (0.50D steps), -6.00 to +6.00DS (0.25D steps), +6.50 to +10.00DS (0.50D steps) with cylinder powers from -2.75 to -5.75DC (0.50D steps) with axes from 5 to 180 degrees in 5-degree steps, and +8.50 to +10.00DS with cylinder powers from -0.75 to -2.25DC (0.50D steps) with axes from 5 to 180 degrees in 5-degree steps.
