General Optical has closed its offices in New Zealand and is invoicing and supplying its new Zealand customers from its Sydney offices.
Brad Saffin, Director of General Optical told mivision the restructure had been undertaken in an effort to remain competitive.
“We are constantly looking at how we can most effectively meet the needs of our customers. This change will allow us to be more efficient by leveraging our customer service office in Sydney that has the capacity to meet the needs of our New Zealand customers, as well,” said Mr. Saffin.
“We’ll leverage our Sydney customer support to provide assistance for our New Zealand office. This change does not impact our business, and, in fact, is expected to provide better integration for our operations team. All existing account programs and initiatives will continue. We were already shipping from our Sydney warehouse, and that will stay the same. We have a strong in-house sales team in Australia that will also be providing support for New Zealand.”
Mr. Saffin said GenOp would work with local sales representatives in New Zealand who would service accounts.
“We are confident in General Optical’s future and their positive growth. Both VSP and Gen Op continue to be committed to the Australia and New Zealand regions and are taking the necessary steps to ensure our organisation continues to be competitive in the marketplace,” said Mr. Saffin.
