The latest in colours, textures and frame shapes will be showcased at Silmo Paris 2016 from 23 –26 September.
This annual event draws together thousands of people from around the world, eager to pick the trends and order up for the coming season.
A highlight of every Silmo show is the announcement of the Silmo D’Or winners, recognizing the most innovative frame designers, manufacturers and lens companies in the categories of vision, material/equipment, low vision, children, optic frame, sunglass, sports equipment and frame technological innovation.
Entrants into Silmo D’Or are judged by a grand jury consisting of the Silmo President, and eight members from every exhibiting category, as well as international buyers and journalists.

The theme for Silmo 2016 is continuity and this year’s show will be organised around four complementary categories – fashion, health, innovation and training.
According to the organisers, the show’s goal is “to combine business and creativity, constantly seeking to provide meaningful services for attending professionals, visitors and exhibitors alike”.
Despite the focus on frames, there is much more to Silmo than first meets the eye. The various exhibition areas represent the entire industry (optical frames, sunglasses, lenses, contact lenses, low vision, equipment, optical instruments, store layout etc). They bring together 900 exhibitors from across the globe along with 1,350 designer brands.
