RANZCO 48th Scientific Congress

RANZCO has released the names of invited speakers who will present lectures at its 48th Annual Scientific Congress in Melbourne this November. The list includes some of the country’s most respected local Fellows alongside guests from around the globe.

Prof. Gerard Sutton will deliver this year’s Council Lecture; Prof. Denis Wakefield, the Sir Norman Gregg Lecture; Prof. Maarten P Mourits, the Ida Mann Lecture and Dr. James Muecke will deliver the Hollows Lecture.

From around the world, RANZCO will welcome lectures from Dr. Fiona Costello (Canada), Prof. Keith Martin (United Kingdom), Prof. Ursula Schmidt-Erfurth (Austria), Dr. David R Hardten (USA) and Prof. Boris Malyugin (Russia).

Areas of special interest covered this year in update lectures include cataract, glaucoma, retina, neuro-ophthalmology and refractive surgery.

As well as these keynote lectures, delegates can look forward to courses and symposia, the poster gallery and rapid fire paper sessions. RANZCO’s annual ophthalmic film festival this year will focus on two topic areas – community ophthalmology and surgical technique. From these two categories, an overall winner
will be selected.

With so much to see and be involved in, delegates can expect a comprehensive overview of the latest news, research and insight from both a local and international perspective.
