Excellent eyewear and an amazing sense of social purpose are at the essence of everything produced by Michigan based company Article One.
The company was founded to raise awareness and funding for Vitamin A deficiency in developing nations. To do this, AU$2.60 from each frame sold is donated to Helen Keller International. To date Article One has raised over almost AU$16,000 for the foundation.
Article One has stepped up its generosity with the release of a limited edition collection of frames from which 100 per cent of the profits will be donated directly to a not for profit in Flint, the town in which the company is based. Monies raise by FlintKids.org, will help find long-term solutions for the health and development of Flint’s youth in the wake of a recent water crisis. The company aims to raise over AU$52,000 for the cause.
Article One has its eyewear handcrafted by a small, family owned factory in a village in Northern Italy with an optical technician involved from start to finish.
