Graduates of optometry are invited to undertake online postgraduate qualifications in optometry with The University of Melbourne, Department of Optometry and Vision Sciences. A new semester of courses, specifically designed for off-campus study, commences on 24 July 2017.
The courses allow optometrists to re-examine the basic science underpinning clinical optometry in the context of the latest evidence. They will also enable optometrists to update current knowledge and skills, with the emphasis on understanding and managing clinical problems.
Subjects can be completed as stand-alone Specialist Certificate courses or combined as three courses/ subjects with a compulsory research subject to qualify for the Master of Clinical Optometry. This can be completed part-time over four years.
Candidates must have completed an optometry degree leading to registration to practice in Australia or equivalent. Professional experience may be taken into account to determine equivalency.
