PersonalEyes will host a modular glaucoma course focussed on clinical outcomes delivered with both private and corporate practice relevance.
The modular course consists of two webinars, each with optional interactive case studies and a one-day masterclass with an optional clinical case report project. Optometrists can opt in for as many modules as they like with or without the additional case report projects.
The course will be led by Associate Professor Andrew White, glaucoma specialist and author of the RANZCO Glaucoma referral pathway and guide for collaborative care, and Associate Professor Chandra Bala who completed his glaucoma fellowship under Associate Professor Paul Healy.
According to PersonalEyes, the course was developed to ensure optometrists’ clinical skills and professional practice are competitively positioned to embrace market changes. “An ageing population, increased public awareness as well as improved diagnostics and treatment options are contributing to an increased demand in care for glaucoma,” said Dean Powrie, CEO of PersonalEyes. “Meanwhile, public waiting lists are growing beyond capacity and many private ophthalmologists are preferring to focus on cataract, refractive and medical retina over glaucoma. Needless to say, the market dynamic is changing and the growing demand for more efficient eye care pathways is becoming essential rather than just preferred.”
The first webinar, Drop-free Glaucoma Management – How Close Are We? Will be presented by Assoc. Prof. White on Tuesday 26 September. Register at: omnovia.redbackconferencing.com.au/ landers/page/e968c3.
