MyHealth1st Launch Gives NZ Independents Chance to Drive Growth

The practice building advantages of popular digital customer engagement platform, MyHealth1st, will be revealed at dinner events for independent optometrists in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch next Month (March 6-8).

The disruptive technology enables patients to book online appointments with their optometrists 24/7 and independent optometrists to communicate with patients in real-time for patient recalls (EasyRecall), practice surveys (EasyFeeback) and eye health education.

Launched to the optometry profession in Australia in 2017, in less than 12 months MyHealth1st grew from having a 3 per cent share of the local independent optometry market to over 60 per cent (over 1,200 practices) in just 12 months.

significantly reduces administrative work for optometry practice staff, makes it simpler and easier for the patient to interact with the practice, improves the patient experience and drives new patients into optometry businesses

MyHealth1st Managing Director Klaus Bartosch said his company designed the platform to enable independent optometry practices to compete on a level playing field with corporate practices. “It’s working extremely effectively for them,” he said. “Across the practices that are using the platform, we know that 43 per cent of all bookings are from new patients and 61 per cent of online bookings are made when a practice is open!”

Mr. Bartosch said MyHealth1st, which is available with an affordable subscription, “significantly reduces administrative work for optometry practice staff, makes it simpler and easier for the patient to interact with the practice, improves the patient experience and drives new patients into optometry businesses.”

“Independent optometry practices in New Zealand that have already signed up to MyHealth1st are seeing the benefits of this platform. We anticipate that following the official launch events, we will receive significant interest. As this is sophisticated digital platform which requires some lead time for implementation, we encourage optometrists to express interest early so they can get on board as quickly as possible.”
