The 2018 Southern Regional Congress (SRC) will intorudce, for the first-time, keynote speaker Kelly Malloy (USA) and welcome back crowd favourite, Nate Lighthizer (USA).
Dr. Malloy’s expertise in neuro-optometry will see her presentations focussed on pupil and visual field assessment and assessment of diplopia or similar, while Dr. Lighthizer will bring his updated knowledge of anterior segment.
Local experts Professor Allison McKendrick, Michael Yapp and Kate Gifford will contribute to the educational program touching on glaucoma, diagnostic skills and myopia.
A new initiative – team-based learning (TBL) sessions – will be presented by both Deakin University and University of Melbourne. Delegates will have the opportunity to work as a team to solve problems and present solutions. TBL offers hands-on, interactive problem solving and opportunity for information sharing.
Another first for SRC, Small Group Workshops (SWG), will allow for maximum interaction between presenter and delegates. Limited to 20 delegates, these sessions will provide focussed education and engagement. 2018 SGWs will concentrate on practice management, marketing, human resources and financing.
