Dry eye disease affects hundreds of millions of people throughout the world and is a frequent cause of patient visits to eye care practitioners. The new Systane Complete lubricant eye drops can treat the symptoms of multiple types of dry eye by targeting all layers of the tear film.
Alcon will launch Systane Complete for the treatment of dry eye disease at a roadshow taking in five capital cities in Australia during October.
Systane Complete adds to the existing Systane family of ocular lubricants, which Alcon has been providing to Australians for 15 years.
Alcon has teamed up with the University of NSW School of Vision Sciences and DEWS II investigators to host the roadshow. Experts in their field will present the latest information on dry eye diagnosis and management, as described in findings from The Tear Film and Ocular Society (TFOS) Dry Eye Workshop II (DEWSII) completed in 2017. Practical demonstrations will show how Systane Complete can fit into the treatment regime.
