The new DRI Triton is the only commercially available posterior swept source optical coherence tomographer (OCT). It uses 1050nm swept source technology and an OCTARA proprietary image processing system to allow deeper retinal structures to be visualised. The 1050nm wavelength makes OCT imaging possible for patients with media opacities such as cataract and haemorrhages, due to less depth dependent signal roll-off. This particular combination provides uniform scanning sensitivity, allowing high quality visualisation of the vitreous and choroid in the same scan, while detecting even low microvascular flow with high sensitivity through its OCT Angiography modality.
With an A-Scan speed of 100,000 scans/sec, movement artefact is reduced and clinicians see improvement in first time capture rate. Coupled with a high resolution non-mydriatic fundus camera, the DRI Triton range offers true colour, red-free, fluorescein angiography and fundus auto fluorescence photography modes.
