Avedro’s KXL system is a highly advanced UVA device for performing corneal collagen cross-linking. The KXL achieves accelerated cross-linking in just minutes by increasing UVA power and reducing the exposure time, while maintaining the same total energy on the eye as used in standard cross-linking. The KXL system’s higher power yields shorter UVA exposure times for increased patient comfort and improved practice efficiency.
The system is designed for use with Avedro’s proprietary riboflavin formulations, specifically for the KXL crosslinking procedure (forme fruste keratoconus) and Lasik Xtra ((keratoconus and ectasia, cross-linking in conjunction with Lasik).
