In 2016, Glaukos Australia launched the iStent inject. Delivering two preloaded trabecular micro-bypass stents with a single entry, iStent inject optimises the benefits of MIGS. It is designed to improve aqueous outflow through the natural physiological outflow pathway. Additionally, it is intended to reduce intraocular pressure in adult patients diagnosed with mild to moderate primary open angle glaucoma who are currently treated with ocular hypotensive medication.
The iStent inject can be implanted with or without cataract surgery.
