SEMO 2020: 16 – 18 April 2020

The Scientific and Educators Meeting in Optometry (SEMO) is a gathering of optometrists and vision scientists from across Australasia, who share a passion for innovation in basic and clinical science and teaching practice relating to Optometry.

The meeting is being hosted by the School of Optometry and Vision Science, University of Auckland, New Zealand, 16 – 18 April 2020.

Our varied programmes reflects both the diversity of optometry programmes and the high level of inter-disciplinarity that characterises vision research

Conference activities include talks, poster presentations, practical workshops and demonstration sessions, along with social gatherings over drinks on Thursday and the conference dinner on Friday. Our varied programme reflects both the diversity of optometry programmes and the high level of inter-disciplinarity that characterises vision research.

Our workshops in particular emphasise cultural competency in the training of Optometrists, and our use of technology for ocular imaging, assessment of visual function, and treatment of dry eye disease.

Abstracts are invited ideally by 27 January, for response to authors by the end of February; registrations are open until 31 March 2020. Full registration NZ$350 and student rate NZ$200, includes the conference dinner. See here for details.
