The Cornea & Contact Lens Society Australia (CCLSA), in collaboration with other international partners, has announced the 7th International Contact Lens Health Week to take place from 17–21 August 2020 with the campaign theme Road to 2020 Vision Begins with Contact Lens Health.
Contact Lens Health Week is a strategy to increase public awareness and promote healthy contact lens wear and care by emphasising the importance of contact lens hygiene and practices to protect against serious eye infections and other illnesses. It is hoped that increased awareness will encourage contact lens wearers to adopt healthy habits.
This year’s health messages cover healthy contact lens wear and care hygiene practices, risk associated with improper contact lens use, and regular visits to an eye care provider.
The CCLSA asks that practices make plans to share Contact Lens Health Week news via their social media, website, newsletters and in practice, and to consider using the ‘No Water’ stickers available for order via [email protected].
To keep up-to-date, information can be accessed via the CCLSA Facebook page (www.facebook.com/CCLSAus/).
