A generous donation of 1,500 quality frames made by Optical Wholesalers, Eyes Right Optical (ERO), will help facilitate practical work to be undertaken by students at the Australasian College of Optical Dispensing (ACOD).
The frames will be distributed across ACOD workshops in Australia and New Zealand and used in practical activities from day one. The donation is the third made by ERO to ACOD and comes off the back of a longstanding partnership between ERO’s Mark and Lisa Wymond and ACOD directors James Gibbins and Chedy Kalach.
In the case of ERO, Mark and Lisa are contributing directly to the quality of training that hundreds of ACOD students receive
“Industry support like this makes a huge difference,” said James Gibbins. “In the past the colleges that Chedy and I have taught from would use tired, old frames over and over again – old, very outdated styles, that become fragile from age and excessive manipulation by learners.
“With the support of ERO, our students get their hands on a large variety of relatively modern frames, a huge range of styles and materials, and they work with frames in good condition, just like they work with at the workplace.”
After a large intake of students around Australia, ACOD is preparing to launch 2021 workshops. The quality and quantity of ERO’s donation will ensure these students are adequately equipped throughout all stages of training.
“ACOD highly values all of our industry partners and supporters. In the case of ERO, Mark and Lisa are contributing directly to the quality of training that hundreds of ACOD students receive, of which the entire industry are beneficiaries,” said Mr Gibbins.
