A podcast created by Dr Maria Cabrera-Aguas, a researcher at the University of Sydney, Save Sight Institute, is now available for eye health professionals and members of the public. The podcast explores topics related to eye health and answers some common questions about eye conditions.
In the first episode, Dr Cabrera-Aguas interviewed Prof Stephanie Watson, corneal specialist and the head of the Corneal Research Group at the University of Sydney, Save Sight Institute and the Head of the Corneal Unit at the Sydney Eye Hospital about corneal infections associated with the use of contact lenses. Prof Watson talked about how to identify a corneal infection and gave recommendations on how to prevent this infection. Contact lens related infections still result in loss of sight. If we know more about them, we could prevent and save sight.
