Doug Perkins, co-founder of the Specsavers group, has announced the winners of the annual Doug Perkins Award to optometrists in Australia and New Zealand.
The award recognises the two Specsavers stores that have demonstrated consistently high standards of clinical excellence and patient care in 2020 and 2021.
Across 2020 and 2021 Mr Perkins said, “Specsavers led the way in delivering exceptional patient outcomes across Australia and New Zealand, day in and day out”.
Despite the lockdowns over the past 18 months you’ve never, for once, lost your focus on transforming eye health
Mr Perkins congratulated and thanked all the winners and finalists who contributed to producing extraordinary outcomes across the year.
Speaking to all optometrists attending a Specsavers Clinical Conference on 18 August, he said, “Despite the lockdowns over the past 18 months you’ve never, for once, lost your focus on transforming eye health”.
The winning Australian practice was Specsavers Harvey Bay Pialbal led by dispensing partner Natasha Cannan, and optometrist partners Sarel van der Westhuizen and Gabriella Pezzuto.
The winning New Zealand practice – for the second consecutive year – was led by optometrist partner Sophie Woodburn and retail partner Leigh Jackson.
