SRC Returns as Online Conference

Optometry Victoria /South Australia (OV/SA) has announced the program for Southern Regional Congress (SRC), which returns as a virtual education conference in place of the now cancelled O=MEGA21 trade show.

To be held from 2–4 September, SRC will still give optometrists their required CPD hours. Participants will receive up to 23.5 CPD hours (with assessment), including up to 14.5T hours (with assessment) and up to 8.5i hours (with assessment).

Pete Haydon, CEO of OV/ SA, said this will not be an ordinary online conference.

Hosted by Cassandra Haines and Sophie Koh, OV/SA is working closely with production company Scene Change who worked on last year’s Blue Sky conference, to produce the event,” he said. See this video for a hint of what’s to come.

With a program of outstanding speakers and engaging topics, themes include paediatrics, glaucoma and therapeutics. Speakers include Allison McKendrick, Daryl Guest, Tim Fricke, Nicholas Cheng, Richard Lindsay, Janelle Scully, Laura Carson, Jess Chi, Anton Van Heerden, Ann Webber, Holly Chinnery, Rosie Dawkins, Alex Gentle, David Foresto, and Tissa Wijeratne.

Previously held annually between 2000 and 2018, SRC was the leading optometry clinical conference in Australia, offering optometrists and eye care professionals a chance to come together and learn about the latest in clinical and eye care developments, while viewing the latest equipment to support the profession.

The full program and FAQs are available here: OMEGA 21.
