The eye care community has a unique opportunity to explore, compare and purchase a massive range of newly released ophthalmic equipment in October during O=PEN HOUSE, an event that will be held in Brisbane and Melbourne.
The collaborative effort was conceived in the wake of the cancelled O=MEGA21.
BOC Instruments, Designs for Vision, Device Technologies and Optimed will all open their houses, from 8–9 October in Melbourne and from 15–16 October in Brisbane. A Sydney event may go ahead, pending the lifting of lockdown restrictions.
Ryan Heggie, Business Manager, Ophthalmic Diagnostic at Device Technologies said, “O=PEN HOUSE has been established to provide practitioners an opportunity to see newly released technology, with an in-person demonstration in one of many showrooms, while remaining compliant with relative state restrictions and COVID safety measures.”
Will Robertson from Designs for Vision, who initiated the idea and worked with BOC, Device and Optimed to get the Friday/ Saturday events off the ground, stressed the uniqueness of the effort.
“In Australia we are fortunate to operate in an environment where, despite being competitors, we work together for the benefit of the profession and the community as a whole. It is unlikely that you could find such a collaborative effort like this anywhere else in the world,” he said.
“We’ll have the full gamut of equipment available to explore. We’ll be celebrating with some fantastic offers that are exclusive to O=PEN HOUSE visitors – discounts and value-add offers that you’d only usually find at O=MEGA.”
